To join us in this area, you’ll need a customer-facing background in one of the following areas:

  • Adult care
  • Older adult care

If you enjoy meeting people and providing the best service you can, Care Force is a great place to build your career.

Many of our Health Care Workers have gone on to develop themselves by completing diplomas and specialised courses; we pride ourselves in promoting the right people to the right roles across our business.

You could visit someone for 15 minutes through to several hours. You’ll be expected to travel between service users homes and so you’ll need a full UK driving licence along with access to a car.

Visiting Care Workers help assist those living in their own homes with personal care; helping them get out of bed in the morning, assisting individuals with washing and dressing, supporting with continence care as well as helping with household chores. Assisting with medication is something that you will also be asked to help with.

Being companions for our customers is an important part of our Care Workers roles. Being there for them and listening to them is a key aspect of the role which provides a welcome conversation for our customers.

Qualifications and training

Although there are no specific requirements for the role it is desirable if you have a Diploma level 2 or 3. If you don’t then there is no need to worry as we provide the opportunity for you to enrol on a Diploma course after six months.

Skills and experience

Previous experience in home care is desirable, this can be in the form of an informal role; caring for a family member. If you don’t have care experience then we’ll give you the opportunity at interview to demonstrate some customer service skills as a basis to build on.

What’s most important for the role is fantastic communication skills; both verbal and written. You’ll need to engage with the customer by speaking with them and listening to them. You’ll also need to communicate with your colleagues on a daily basis.
